PROGRAM
DAY 1 (Austria) High Alpine Cogwheel Railway and Lake Wolfgang
Our journey begins at dawn, departing from Wenceslas Square at 6:00 AM. Today, we’re heading deep into the heart of Tyrol — into the embrace of the Austrian Alps.

By midday, we’ll arrive at the shores of the stunning Lake Wolfgangsee. This is where the magic begins. From here, we ascend to 1,783 meters — into the mountains, where clouds drift lazily and the air is crisp with alpine freshness.

One of Austria’s most enchanting experiences awaits us — the historic Schafberg cogwheel steam railway. Since 1893, these vintage locomotives have been climbing from St. Wolfgang to the summit of Schafberg. In just 35 minutes, the train takes us 1,190 meters up, chugging through forests and pastures, into a world of sweeping panoramas. On a clear day, you’ll be rewarded with a 360° view over the lakes of the Salzkammergut — Wolfgangsee, Irrsee, Mondsee, Fuschlsee, and Chiemsee shimmer like jewels among the rolling hills and mountain peaks.

After our journey to the skies, we return to earth and take a gentle walk through the storybook village of St. Wolfgang. Nestled between the lake and the mountains, this charming town offers cobbled streets, wooden balconies draped with flowers, and the calm rhythm of life by the water.

As the day softens into evening, we make our way to our hotel — a peaceful retreat in the heart of Austria.

The drive to the hotel takes about an hour and a half — just enough time to reflect on a day that already feels like a dream.
DAY 2 (Germany)
Koenigssee
The Emerald Mirror of Königssee
As the sun rises, we leave our alpine haven and set out for Germany — to a place that feels like it belongs in a dream. In just one hour, we arrive at Lake Königssee, nestled deep within the Berchtesgaden National Park.
The stillness here is different. It’s deeper, more sacred.

Surrounded by towering cliffs and snowy peaks, the lake stretches out like a sheet of green glass. It’s considered the cleanest lake in Germany, and motorboats are forbidden — only electric or rowboats are allowed to glide across its surface, preserving its serenity.

We board one of these boats and let ourselves drift through silence. As we approach the famous echo wall, the boatman blows a trumpet — and the sound echoes back so perfectly, it seems as though the mountains themselves are singing. We continue to the baroque chapel of St. Bartholomew, its red domes reflected in the water, and take our time exploring the trails and forests along the shoreline.

The whole day belongs to Königssee. We walk, we breathe, we listen. And in the evening, we cross back into Austria to a quiet village where we’ll spend the night, carrying with us the hush of the lake.
Day 3 (Slovenia)
Lakes Bled and Bohinj
A Slovenian Fairytale
After breakfast, we head south once again, this time into Slovenia — a small country with a big heart. It’s a land of lakes, waterfalls, and storybook villages, wrapped in forest and stone.

We begin with Lake Bohinj — often called “Slovenia’s fjords” thanks to a local legend we’ll be sure to share. The lake lies still beneath rugged cliffs, with a quiet kind of beauty that doesn’t ask for attention but quietly wins your heart.

Then, we continue to Lake Bled — a place so picturesque it feels almost imagined. A church sits on a tiny island in the center of the lake, accessible only by boat. The medieval castle watches from the cliffs above. We’ll have lunch here, wander through the village, take photos, and enjoy the slow rhythm of the afternoon. If you’d like, you can row a traditional pletna boat to the island and ring the wishing bell inside the church.

As the day fades into golden light, we return to Austria for the night, with Slovenia’s charm lingering like a fairytale just told.
Day 4 (Italy)
Lake Braies

The Final Lake, the Final Glance

In the morning, we cross one last border — into Italy. Our destination is a place we hold especially dear: the Dolomites, some of the most beloved mountains in all of Europe.

Here, hidden among the peaks, lies the final lake of our journey: Lago di Braies — the most iconic lake in the Dolomites, and for good reason. Surrounded by dramatic cliffs and pine forests, its waters glow in rich shades of turquoise and emerald, especially vibrant in spring. Snow still clings to the mountain tops, adding a final touch of wonder.

We arrive early, before the world catches up, to walk along the wooden boathouse, to hear the silence, to feel the majesty of this place — not as a tourist attraction, but as a last gift from the mountains.

Lago di Braies is the perfect closing chapter to our story — a still moment at the end of a beautiful journey.

After lunch, we begin our way home. And though the road takes us back to cities and schedules, something of the mountains will stay with us — in our eyes, in our hearts, and in every breath we take afterward.
